Postpartum ReTUrn to running group

If you want to get back to running after childbirth, but you are worried about leaking, pain, or pelvic organ prolapse, join a small group of women who may be experiencing the same symptoms and return to what you love doing under the guidance of a pelvic floor PT who specializes in return to running postpartum.

Here’s what the program will look like upon signing up.

Start Date
Sunday January 24, 2027
*If we are experiencing inclement weather such as snow or thunderstorms, runs or strength conditioning days may be rescheduled at no additional cost.

Frequency
Meeting 3x/week tentatively on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. One day will involve a 50-minute strength training day at The Frame in the Old City Hall in downtown Tacoma, and the other two days will consist of outdoor interval runs (rain or shine) in various locations in Tacoma. Interval run days may take approximately 45-55 minutes which includes a brief workshop prior to beginning the run, warm-up, 20-minute interval run/walk, and cooldown.

Learn Practical Tools

Throughout the course of the program, I will share guidelines on how to gauge your pelvic floor symptoms, teach you how to determine if you are overdoing activity, and provide tips on knowing how and when you need to modify your workout of the day. Long-term, I want you to feel confident in trusting your body and knowing how to progress your running time or distance!

Who is an ideal candidate?

❋ Any mom who has had a vaginal or Cesarean birth. You don’t have to be immediately postpartum either! Women with children who are toddlers or are several years old can also join.
❋ If you are a mother who recently gave birth, sign up if you are no longer experiencing postpartum bleeding or lochia (ideally at least 10 weeks postpartum). If you are wanting to join the program and are less than 10 weeks postpartum, please contact me as everybody’s healing timeline is different after birth. By the way, the common recommendation to wait until 12 weeks postpartum to return to running is actually an arbitrary number!
❋ You are able to tolerate 30 minutes of walking with no more than 1-2/10 leakage, heaviness, or pain during or after activity (ZERO is preferred but NOT required).
❋ You are a mother who wants to get back to running so that you can keep up with your toddler, get a mental sanity run in, prep for your first 5K, or build your foundation before committing to a long distance race.
❋ I welcome women of ANY body type, and everybody's running journey is a unique experience!
